We received this packet in the mail a few days ago.  It’s the hard copy of Ezra’s files and photos.  Everything we know about him came from these files… and yet we know enough to love him so much already.

This is how we spent our Saturday. You are looking at a ton of papers that are in the process of being filled out, along with our files that we are using for reference because A) I cannot remember the exact dates of when I worked where and B) we are those kind of precise people. To a fault.

Also, I couldn’t help but buy these pajamas for Ezra from The Children’s Place today. (It helped that there was free shipping and 40% off!) We are able to send him care packages and I’ve been looking for items to fill our first shoebox to send.  I knew when I saw these that I had to get them and send them.  All over them are the words mom, dad, sister, brother, grandma, grandpa, aunt, etc…

He has no idea yet, but he does have a family that loves him.  One made up of all of those people. And friends too. There are so many people that love him and are praying for him!  He’s not an orphan anymore! I hope these pajamas will remind him of that while he is waiting for us.

The Ugly Truth

So when it comes to paperwork, things are not as moving along as quickly as I would like them to. This home study stuff is driving me sort of bonkers.  Also, we have to write our own autobiographies, and must answer a few very personal questions about things I’d really rather not talk about with strangers.  Please pray for endurance and energy to get all of this completed and that through everything, even the ugly things that are from our past, we would give God all the glory.

Thank you for your outpouring of love and support.  We are eternally grateful!

  1. This is so exciting! Thank you so much for sharing this. And seeing those pajamas almost brought me to tears because of how sweet they are! I love your family so much, and am praying to meet a new member real real soon!
