Unit 7: Us in My Father’s World Kindergarten has been completed for quite a while now, but I am so very behind!  Here it is anyway!

Unit 7’s words to remember were: God made us WONDERFUL!

Some of the things we did in this unit:

Everyday we sang the song “Oh, Be Careful Little Eyes.”  We used this video to teach it to us.

Chandler really enjoyed learning about the 5 senses in this unit.  To learn about the sense of touch, I place items in a pillow case and had her feel around and see if she could identify them.

She completed a handwriting page.

We used Mr. Potato head to explore the 5 sense even further.  I would ask her to add the body part, one by one, that helped us to see, hear, feel, smell, and taste.

This was around Valentine’s Day (I told you I was behind!) so this Necco Sweetheart Observations worksheet out of the printable Valentine unit from 2 Teaching Mommies was perfect!

Noah got to use his markers.

If you have Netflix, you can watch episode 11 of season 42 of Sesame Street.  The episode is all about the 5 senses.

I also found these neat videos on YouTube that explained some of the senses.

  1. I just found your blog and I was so happy to discover another mom using My Father’s World and blogging about it! I am on Week 4 “Apple” right now. This is my first year homeschooling. Thanks so much for sharing! I hope you continue to share what you are doing. I just subscribed. Blessings, Angela
