Tomorrow is the day that has been more than a year in the making.

We arrived in Beijing late on Thursday.

Friday we went to Tian’anmen Square and the Forbidden City.

Saturday we climbed the Great Wall of China at Juyong Pass and went to an amazing acrobat show.

In 12 hours we will be meeting our son for the first time!  Ahhhh!  At 9:30 we are meeting to take a bus to the Civil Affairs Office here in Zhengzhou.  I hope I am able to get some sleep tonight!

The Ugly Truth

The touring we did on Friday and Saturday were amazing.  Like, lifelong bucket list items for me.  I even took a picture with a monk on the Great Wall (picture coming soon)!  But I actually woke up on Saturday thinking “the Great Wall is awesome but let’s just go get our boy!”  We are beyond excited.  However…  Every time I think about the fact that in the morning I am going to get Ezra, my heart sinks to the bottom of my stomach and does summersaults.  It’s a combination of nerves and excitement.  It might be the most “excitervous” I’ve ever been.  (Totally just made that up.)

At 9 in the morning us and a few other families are meeting in our room to pray together for the day.  For our children, who will be experiencing unfathomable loss, and for each other, who will be at the mercy of our new children and emotional wrecks and so so happy and so so sad all at once.  Adoption is a complicated and brutiful thing.  (Brutiful = brutal + beautiful.  That one I saw somewhere else! :))

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.  I know so many of you have already spent so much time in prayer for us and that is amazing.  We know that prayer IS doing something and we couldn’t be more thankful.
